An individual or a company can apply to pay their outstanding fine amount by instalments. 

Your application may be assessed based on your:

• outstanding fine amount
• income
• financial status
• payment history
• any hardship that you are experiencing.

You are not eligible to apply to pay your fines by instalment if:

• you are an individual and you have been issued with a 7 Day Notice which has expired, or you waived the 7 day period
• you are a company that has had their property seized under an enforcement warrant or if the director has become a declared director
• the fine is a court fine issued by or registered with the Children’s Court of Victoria. For the options available to you, please visit the Children’s Court website
• a criminal warrant to arrest or a warrant to seize property has been issued against you after a hearing in open court
• a civil warrant has been issued against you where money is owed
• an enforcement warrant has been issued against you for not reporting to a community corrections centre as required by a community work permit
• a warrant to imprison has been issued against you.

If you already have a payment arrangement and you have received a new fine, you should complete and submit the pay by instalment form, using the details for your new fine to log in via the website and apply.

As part of the form completion process, the form will display your older fines on your existing payment arrangement – leave them there; do not exclude them from this new application.

We will then cancel the old payment arrangement and set up a new payment arrangement that includes all your fines – the new fine and your earlier fines. We will confirm the new details with you by post, including a new payment arrangement reference number.

When reviewing your application, Fines Victoria may contact you and request for more information to support your application. We will contact you by post or email to ask for the information.

Once a decision has been made, you'll receive a notification by post or email explaining the outcome of your application.

If your application is successful, you will receive information about how to pay your instalments.
