Victorian Electoral Commission fines
Published on 11 Aug 2017
The Infringements Court has commenced issuing enforcement order notices for unpaid failure to vote infringement notices that were issued in January and February 2017 following the October 2016 local council elections.
If you have received a fine from the Victorian Electoral Commission, you can obtain more information about why the fine was issued at the Victorian Electoral Commission website.
If you've received an Enforcement Order, your options include:
- pay now
- apply for a payment extension
- apply to pay by instalments
- request a review (revocation)
- apply for a work and development permit, if you meet certain criteria
What happens if you don't pay
If you don't act by the due date on your Enforcement Order Notice, you may be issued with a Warning - Infringement Warrant Pending Notice.
