Victorian motorists can now transfer vehicle registrations from their name, or into their name, using VicRoads' new online eTransfers system.

 

In the past, applications for transfer needed to be lodged in person at a Customer Service Centre, but now the entire process can be completed online, saving customers time and effort.

 

This new service offers buyers and sellers the convenience of logging in and fulfilling their transfer obligations from anywhere, at any time. The transfer to the new owner is processed within 24 hours.

 

Remember to always notify VicRoads of a transfer as the seller is still liable for any traffic offences incurred. The new online service helps to protect customers by ensuring timely, accurate updates to the Vehicles Register.
