If You Don't Take Action

If you do not pay your fine and you ignore all reminders, the matter becomes more serious and costly. The Infringements Court may issue an infringement warrant, giving the Sheriff power to enforce that warrant.

The measures the Sheriff can take to enforce an unpaid infringement warrant include:

If you pay the amount outstanding on an infringement warrant, the matter is finalised.

  • If you have been given a seven day notice you have seven days in which to pay, obtain a payment order or obtain a revocation (cancellation) of the enforcement order.
  • If you do not pay your fine or take other relevant action within the seven day notice period, a sheriff's officer can enforce your infringement warrant.
